Scheduled transactions

Pending Status

Planning for upcoming transactions can be done by scheduling transactions to post on the desired date(s) or by recording transactions early and marking them with the "Pending" status. When you schedule a transaction it will post a transaction on its due date. You can select to post the next occurrence of scheduled transactions at any time in the Scheduled Transactions - Setup section. When transactions are generated from a scheduled transaction they will post with the "Pending" status by default. All transactions that are marked as "Pending", whether due to being generated from a scheduled transaction or due to being set with the "Pending" status manually, will be accessible in the Scheduled Transactions - Pending section. There you will be able to review any pending transactions and select to "Post" them which will change their status from "Pending" to "Recorded" and remove them from the Pending section. The badge number next to the Scheduled Transactions listing in the main account list is the number of transactions marked as "Pending".

Through scheduling transactions or by posting transactions early you will be able to take advantage of some additional options in the program. As mentioned above, when using the "Pending" transaction status you get the benefit of being able to easily access and update any pending transactions in the Pending section. Transactions marked as "Pending" that have dates on or before today are considered to be overdue transactions and will be shown with an orange background color in accounts by default. Transactions posted early with dates after today will be shown with a yellow background color in accounts by default. You can customize the background color for early posted or overdue transactions in the Colors preferences. By posting transactions early and using the "Pending" status you will be able to track additional balances for accounts such as being able to view the total amount for pending transactions.
