Reinstall SEE Finance 2 for macOS if ever needed. The program is document based, similar to text editing and spreadsheet programs, which means the program stores your data in the document data file(s) that you setup and use in the program. On macOS, data files are always stored separately from the program itself. This allows you to delete and reinstall the program without deleting any of your data file(s) for the program. On iOS, data files can be stored within the app itself or elsewhere such as on iCloud Drive. You need to make sure your data files are saved elsewhere before you reinstall SEE Finance 2 for iOS. Learn how to reinstall SEE Finance 2 for macOS below.

Note: These instructions are specific to reinstalling the version of the program available directly from us at Scimonoce Software. Refer to the instructions for reinstalling from the Mac App Store if you purchased the program from the Mac App Store.

You will first need to delete any copies of the program you have installed. Don't worry about losing any data you've already created though. On macOS, data files are always stored separately from the program itself. This allows you to delete and reinstall the program without deleting any of your data file(s) for the program. Use the steps below to locate and delete any copies of SEE Finance 2 for macOS and delete them.

1. Quit SEE Finance if it is currently open while accepting any prompts to save.
2. Use Finder to check your Applications folder, Downloads folder, and any custom download location for there being any copies of SEE Finance 2 for macOS. Move any that are found to the Trash.
3. Once all copies are in the Trash, verify there's nothing in the Trash you need before selecting to "Empty the Trash" in the next step as they will be permanently deleted.
4. Select "Empty the Trash" from Finder's File menu.

Note: It is an option to keep older versions of SEE Finance. Multiple copies of the program can be kept by storing them in separate subfolders within your Applications folder. For example, keep the first version of SEE Finance in a subfolder named "SEE Finance Version 1" and keep SEE Finance 2 in a subfolder named "SEE Finance Version 2". It is not recommended to keep multiple copies of the same major version such as version 2.0.1, 2.0.2, 2.1, 2.X, etc as that can lead to confusion and the latest release of a major version should almost always be used.

1. Use Finder to check your Downloads folder, or custom download location, for there being any copies of SEE Finance that were downloaded previously and move them to the Trash.
2. Download the current version of SEE Finance 2 for macOS from our website:

1. After the program finishes downloading you will need to use Finder to move the program from your Downloads folder, or custom download location, to your Applications folder or to a subfolder within your Applications folder. Prior to doing so you may need to "unzip" the program if it was not unzipped automatically. If you are prompted that a version of SEE Finance already exists when moving it to the Applications folder choose to replace the older version.
2. In Finder, open SEE Finance 2 for macOS from your Applications folder.
3. When opening any program that was downloaded outside of the Mac App Store you will be prompted to verify that you are sure you want to open it in a message such as the one in the screenshot below. Accept to "Open" the program.

1. Pin the program's Dock icon to the Dock if desired and unpin any previously pinned Dock icons that are no longer valid. To pin a Dock icon, Control-click on the program's Dock icon to be shown a pop-up menu and then in the Options submenu select the "Keep in Dock" option. To unpin a Dock icon, Control-click on the program's Dock icon to be shown a pop-up menu and then in the Options submenu deselect the "Keep in Dock" option.
2. Then get back to using SEE Finance 2 for macOS.

Note: To perform a very thorough reinstall, you can use the uninstall instructions and then install the program again.

Note: Please do not skip the step of using Finder to install the program in your Applications folder. As of macOS 10.12 Sierra, programs that are downloaded from the internet will be put in "quarantine" until they are moved using Finder by the user. Programs that are put in "quarantine" can act strangely including loading slower than normal, their pinned Dock icons don't work, and they can crash unexpectedly.

Note: Please do not rename the program itself including if you downloaded multiple copies or versions of it. The program should remain named as "SEE Finance" or as "SEE Finance.app" if you have file extensions set to be shown. If the program was renamed, please reinstall the program.

Note: It is an option to keep older versions of SEE Finance such as for having version 2 and keeping version 1 for older files. Multiple copies of the program can be kept by storing them in separate subfolders within your Applications folder. Note: The Google Chrome web browser may present an alert indicating "SEE Finance.app.zip is not commonly downloaded and may be dangerous." when downloading a version of SEE Finance that was only just recently released (before Google has had a chance to perform their own verification of the program). SEE Finance can always be safely downloaded using the Safari web browser from our website as it is notarized by Apple.
