Update or reinstall from the Mac App Store

SEE Finance 2 for macOS

It is always recommended that you update to the current release for your version of SEE Finance. Updates can include new features, adjustments and fixes for any known issues with the program. Learn how to check for app updates and how to update or reinstall the program below.

Note Note: These instructions are specific to updating the version of the program available from the Mac App Store. Refer to the instructions for updating from Scimonoce Software if you acquired the program directly from us at Scimonoce Software.

Mac App Store

Update from the Mac App Store:

Apps from the Mac App Store can be set to automatically update or you can check and update them when desired. Use the instructions below to check and perform updates for SEE Finance 2 for macOS.

  1. Quit SEE Finance 2 for macOS if it is currently open while accepting any prompts to save.
  2. Open the App Store app on your Mac.
  1. If an update is available for SEE Finance 2 for macOS, click "Update".
  2. After the program finishes downloading you can click "Open" to open the program and quit the App Store app. You can also use Finder to open the program from your Applications folder.
  3. Quit the App Store app and then get back to using using SEE Finance 2 for macOS.

Mac App Store

Reinstall from the Mac App Store:

You will first need to delete any copies of the program you have installed. Don't worry about losing any data you've already created though. On macOS, data files are always stored separately from the program itself. This allows you to delete and reinstall the program without deleting any of your data file(s) for the program. Use the steps below to locate and delete any copies of SEE Finance and delete them.

  1. Quit SEE Finance if it is currently open while accepting any prompts to save.
  2. Use Finder to check your Applications folder, Downloads folder, and any custom download location for there being any copies of SEE Finance 2 for macOS. Move any that are found to the Trash.
  3. Once all copies are in the Trash, verify there's nothing in the Trash you need before selecting to "Empty the Trash" in the next step as they will be permanently deleted.
  4. Select "Empty the Trash" from Finder's File menu.

Next, install from the Mac App Store:

  1. Click to download SEE Finance 2 from your list of purchased apps.
  2. After the program finishes downloading you can click "Open" to open the program and quit the App Store app. You can also use Finder to open the program from your Applications folder.
  3. Pin the program's Dock icon to the Dock if desired and unpin any previously pinned Dock icons that are no longer valid. To pin a Dock icon, Control-click on the program's Dock icon to be shown a pop-up menu and then in the Options submenu select the "Keep in Dock" option. To unpin a Dock icon, Control-click on the program's Dock icon to be shown a pop-up menu and then in the Options submenu deselect the "Keep in Dock" option.
  4. Then get back to using SEE Finance 2 for macOS.

  1. Click to download SEE Finance 2 from your list of purchased apps.
