
Creating Liability Accounts
Creating liability accounts is easy, just follow the steps below.
Creating an Liability Account:
- First open your existing SEE Finance file OR if you do not have one yet, create a new file by selecting "File" and then selecting "New SEE Finance File" from the Menu Bar (if you chose to create a new file skip down to step 3).
- From the Menu Bar select "Accounts" then "New Account" OR click either action button under the accounts list.
- The "Create New Account" sheet will then appear attached to the SEE Finance file's window. Make sure "Create Account Manually" is selected and click "Next".
- On the next view enter your desired account name, select "Liability" for account type, and select the currency the account is based in. Then click "Next".
- In the next view enter the account's initial balance (enter a negative value if you owe this amount to this account and a positive amount if you are owed this amount from this account). Select an account subtype and click "Next" once again.
- Verify the information is correct in the "New Account Summary" view and if it is click the "Finish" button and you're done!
